And indeed Epigonus, dressed only as far as a philosopher, as he appeared, after a vain attempt at prayer, with his sides furrowed and the fear of death brought near, by a shameful confession of thoughts, confirmed that there had been an accomplice, which there was none, since he had seen nothing nor heard anything, completely lacking experience in public affairs; Eusebius, on the other hand, more confidently denying the charges, remained suspended at the same level of steadfastness, proclaiming that it was robbery, not judgment.
